Please mark your calendar for May 18th-21st as the dates to pick-up your student’s remaining items at school. Please follow this link ( to sign-up for a 30 min time slot. Students may be accompanied by one family member and should wash their hands upon entering the building. Masks and gloves are encouraged but not required.  6 feet of social distancing should be maintained at all times. After you have cleaned out your locker, please leave it open.

During this time, please also bring back school property such as a library book or textbook. (please note, students keep consumable workbooks).  Chromebooks will NOT be checked in unless you are leaving the district.

Student item pick-up will include (it is recommended you bring a bag or backpack to carry out belongings):

  • School boxes, notebooks, bags, coats, etc. (any personal items left in the room)

  • 2019-2020 yearbooks (if ordered)

  • LifeTouch Spring Pictures (if ordered)

We are hopeful to be back in the regular classroom setting in the Fall, but we want to be prepared for any possibility. Students will keep their technology device through the summer. Logins will continue to be active so students can continue utilizing resources available if you wish to practice skills over the summer. Derby Public Schools will update families in July/August with 2020-2021 plans. 

Please remember that you are responsible for the devices and power cords, per the Acceptable Use Policy.  If you do not plan to use them with your child for learning opportunities, we recommend putting them in cabinets or other safe storage for the summer. If you do plan to allow your student to use their device, please know you are responsible for monitoring the content on their device. We expect these devices to return to Derby Public Schools when school resumes, so if you are moving out of district please make arrangements to return. (Please note: Our Technology Department will accept devices in need of repair until May 15, by appointment only. Devices in need of repair after May 15th will be collected for repair at the beginning of the 2021 school year.  If you are leaving the district, please call (316)788-8591 or visit visit and click "Ask for Help" to make arrangements to check in your student's device.
